A20370 - AC205KQM 5-Port Repeater w/Bridge Controller (Broadcom)

The AC205KQM is a 5-port 10/100Mbps integrated repeater with a bridge controller. The AC205KQM provides a low cost and integrated solution for unmanaged repeater applications. The AC205KQM is a Class II Repeater that is fully compliant with IEEE 802.3 standards. The device provides five 10/100 Mbps copper media ports. The AC205KQM also provides one selectable MII/7-wire interface. The MII/7-wire interface can be connected to a MAC or a Switch for managed repeater stack or hybrid Switch/Repeater Applications. The AC205KQM provides 10/100 Mbps auto-negotiation and parallel detection for all ports. The AC205KQM provides two internal repeater state machines, one operating at 10 Mbps and the other at 100 Mbps. Once the technology is set, the device automatically connects each port to the appropriate repeater segment. The AC205KQM integrates repeater controller and switch engine technologies with "store and forward" forwarding mechanisms.
