C6996 - TOL (Temperature, Ohm, Light) Kit

Our Temperature, Ohm, Light (TOL) Kit makes a great introduction to programmable integrated circuits (PIC) by demonstrating 4 specific functions being handled by a single pre-programmed PIC. This kit measures three different parameters and displays them on a 3.5" LCD. This kit uses a PIC16F88 pre-programmed IC to allow you to measure resistance from 30 ohms up to 470k ohms, temperature from 35ºF to 130ºF and light intensity from 0% up to 100% (full sunshine). The PC board is about 4.4" long x 1.6" wide and comes with the LCD display already soldered in (the pins on the display are very close together so we solder and test the connections to prevent solder bridges). Operates on one 9V battery (not included) and uses a built in thermistor to measure ambient temperature, a CDS cell to measure relative light intensity (when the light intensity drops below 10% a bright yellow LED lights up). Finally, the kit uses clip leads that you can attach to resistors to display their values in ohms. Complete with all parts, pre-programmed PIC, PC board with display installed and instructions.
