G29663 ~ Antique Hoffman 1N202 Germanium Diode in Metal Shell 1960

Antique Hoffman 1N202 Germanium Diode in a metal shell. This was made many years ago and even though it is new, it is very rare with the Hoffman logo. Hoffman was founded in the 1940's and by the 50's had opened their Hoffman Semiconductor Division which made Solar Cells for the Vanguard 1 Satellite in 1958. In the 60's they were located in El Monte, California - they were eventually sold to Gould Electronics in 1977/1978. Own a important piece of history! May have slight tarnish on the gold plated leads.
